Born in1982，Lang Lang started playing the piano aged three and gave his first public recital（独奏会）before the age of five.When he was nine,Lang Lang entered the Central Music Conservatory.He won the first prize at the International Tchaikovsky Competition for Young Musicians four years later.
Lang Lang has also devoted himself to musical education for over ten years and supported children worldwide.In 2008 he set up Lang Lang International Music Foundation （基金会），for the purpose of raising tomorrow's top pianists,developing music education with new technology and building a young audience through live music experience.The foundation has carried out its programmes in North America,Europe and Asia.In 2013 Lang Lang became a "Messenger （使者） of Peace" of the United Nations for global education.
