Babu lived in India and worked as a potter（陶工）.He borrowed an elephant from his rich neighbour,Purna.But unluckily,the elephant ran away.Purna said he would put Babu in jail（监狱） if he couldn\’t find the elephant in three days.
Babu had an idea!He worked day and night to make many pots,jars and bowls.He painted old designs on the new pottery（陶器） to make them look old.When he finished the last jar,he stood back to look at his work and smiled.Then he wrote a letter to ask Purna to his shop to get the elephant.
The next day,Pumna knocked on Babu\’s shop door,but nobody answered.He gave the door a big kick with his foot.

The wooden door crashed into the shop,taking Purna with it.When Purna sat up,he saw broken pottery all around him on the floor.They looked old and valuable（贵重的）.
At that time,Babu came into the shop. "What happened here?" he said. "How did my jars get broken?"
