Have you ever done or thought about volunteering before?Volunteering means spending time and effort（精力） to help somebody or something.As for me,I\’ve volunteered at an animal shelter（收容所） to help feed and（1）t ______ dogs for a walk.
Back in 2021,some friends and I went to an animal shelter outside of Beijing.There,I was able to （2）p ______ animals with some food.There were not only dogs at the shelter,however.I saw many kinds of other animals as （3）w ______,such as foxes and chickens.Our main （4）p ______ was to help the dogs by giving them walks.Many of the dogs stayed in big cages（笼子） along with other dogs and （5）a ______ from a big bowl together.I felt a bit sad for the dogs （6）b ______ many of them looked old and needed a bath.
At that time,I needed to give one of the dogs a good walk and made sure it was in excellent（7）c ______.I remember it was a big black dog（8）w ______ curly hair.The dog was very cute,but it did not want to walk very far.When I took out a tennis ball to play fetch（捡球）,it really enjoyed the game.I couldn\’t help （9）l ______ when watching the dog run through a group of ducks trying to get the ball back.
